Ga-Rei

Ga-Rei was serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine starting in 2005. Written and illustrated by Hajime Segawa, the series emerged during a period of rising popularity for urban fantasy manga that blended supernatural action with school life settings. The story follows Kensuke Nimura, a student with the ability to see ghosts, and his encounter with Kagura Tsuchimiya, a member of an elite supernatural task force, leading to a complex exploration of duty, sacrifice, and the bonds between humans and spirits.

The character designs and visual storytelling reflect Segawa's penchant for dynamic, cinematic action sequences contrasted with more intimate, character-driven moments.
