Gachiakuta

Gachiakuta began serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine in February 2022, marking the debut serial work of manga artist Urana Kei. The series emerged from a modern shonen tradition, blending high-energy action with a distinct aesthetic heavily influenced by graffiti culture and urban decay. Before developing this title, Urana Kei served as an assistant to Atsushi Ohkubo, the creator of Fire Force and Soul Eater, an influence that is frequently noted in the dynamic, stylized linework and the thematic exploration of abandoned objects possessing souls.

The narrative centers on Rudo, a boy living in a slum beneath a floating city who is unjustly cast into a trash-filled abyss. The design of the series is celebrated for its intentional grit and unconventional paneling, which aim to evoke the chaotic energy of street art. Upon its release, the manga was well-received for its imaginative world-building and visual intensity, quickly establishing a dedicated following that appreciated its departure from more traditional, clean-lined shonen art styles.
