Genealogy of the Martin Family; Volume 1

Genealogy of the Martin Family, Volume 1, authored by Charles William Francis, serves as a formal historical record dedicated to documenting the lineage and ancestral ties of the Martin surname. Created as part of a structured effort to preserve genealogical data, such volumes were typically produced to assist researchers, family historians, and descendants in tracing their heritage through birth, marriage, and migration records.

The publication reflects the meticulous, documentation-heavy style common in late 19th and early 20th-century genealogical studies. Authors of this period often aimed to create a comprehensive, authoritative reference by compiling primary source documents and oral histories. While these texts are foundational resources for family archives, they are often evaluated today through the lens of early record-keeping standards and the specific regional constraints of the author's research methods.
