Goblin Slayer Side Story: Year One, Vol. 10 (manga)

Goblin Slayer Side Story: Year One serves as a prequel to Kumo Kagyu’s dark fantasy light novel series, detailing the formative early days of the titular protagonist. This series, illustrated by Kento Sakaeda, was developed to flesh out the backstory of a character defined by his singular obsession with goblin extermination. The manga adaptation of this narrative provides a grittier visual perspective on the character's journey from a young, vengeful survivor to the hardened adventurer known to readers of the original light novels.

The tenth volume continues the tactical and often brutal style that has become the hallmark of the series. Published in English by Yen Press, the volume maintains the aesthetic established in earlier chapters, which emphasizes detailed combat choreography and the unforgiving nature of the world the protagonist inhabits. The series has generally been received as a faithful expansion of the source material, appealing specifically to fans of seinen fantasy who appreciate a methodical, grounded approach to adventure storytelling.
