Where it came from
Gokkan no Rita is a spin-off literary work derived from the 47th Super Sentai series, Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger. It was released to expand upon the backstory of Rita Kaniska, the Supreme Monarch of Gokkan, and to provide deeper insight into the complex legal and cultural systems governing their icy domain. The narrative serves as a character study, bridging gaps between the main television broadcast episodes and offering fans a more intimate perspective on Rita’s motivations and burdens.
The text was penned by Takano Minato, the primary screenwriter for the King-Ohger series. Known for his intricate world-building and subversion of traditional Sentai tropes, Minato designed the volume to be tonally consistent with the show's Shakespearean drama and high-fantasy aesthetic. It was received positively by the dedicated fanbase, who valued the additional canon information that clarified Rita's historical role as the arbiter of justice within the series' five-kingdom structure.
