Golden Raspberry

Golden Raspberry is a shojo manga series created by mangaka Aki Mochida. Serialized in the Japanese magazine Margaret beginning in the mid-2010s, the work reflects the romantic and often dramatic sensibilities typical of Mochida’s portfolio. The series was developed during a period where the magazine was focusing on nuanced, character-driven narratives that explored the complexities of young adult relationships, aiming to resonate with readers through a blend of emotive storytelling and the author's signature delicate illustrative style.

The aesthetic of the series is defined by Mochida’s clean, expressive linework and an emphasis on atmospheric mood, which has become a hallmark of her contributions to the genre. As a piece of contemporary shojo, the collection was received by fans as a thoughtful entry that navigated the familiar tropes of high school romance with a grounded perspective. It remains a representative example of the mid-2010s era of manga production, where digital artistic advancements began to further polish the aesthetic standard for weekly and monthly serialization.
