Where it came from
GUN x SWORD - Another is a manga series that serves as a spin-off to the 2005 anime series GUN x SWORD. Conceptualized by director Taniguchi Gorou, the series was produced to expand upon the desolate, western-inspired science fiction world established in the original show. While the main anime follows the protagonist Van's quest for vengeance, this manga provides additional character depth and lore, focusing on the broader impact of the environment and the unique technology present in the series.
The illustrative work in this volume captures the distinct aesthetic of the franchise, which blends rugged frontier tropes with high-tech mecha elements. It was developed to cater to fans of the original television production who sought further exploration of the side characters and their personal struggles within the world of Endless Illusion. It remains a notable piece of supplemental media for followers of the original series, maintaining the somber yet adventurous tone set by Taniguchi's original creative vision.
