HAMLIN FAMILY: A Genealogy of James Hamlin, of Barnstable, Massachusetts, Eldest Son of James... Hamlin, the Immigrant, who Came from London, Engla

Published in 1902, this genealogical record was compiled by Henry Franklin Andrews to document the lineage of James Hamlin, an early English settler who arrived in Barnstable, Massachusetts, in the 17th century. It emerged during a late Victorian and Edwardian era surge of interest in American ancestry, as descendants of colonial immigrants sought to preserve family history through meticulously researched genealogical volumes.

The work serves as a comprehensive reference for the descendants of the Hamlin line, detailing migration patterns and ancestral connections. While Andrews focused on the rigorous organization of vital records and biographical sketches typical of the era's genealogical scholarship, the volume is now valued primarily as a primary source for historical and genealogical research into early New England settler families.
