Hentai Kamen EX

Hentai Kamen EX serves as a continuation of the satirical manga series created by Keishuu Ando, which originally debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump during the early 1990s. The series occupies a unique niche in the shonen landscape by blending traditional superhero tropes with absurdist, transgressive humor. Its central premise, featuring a protagonist who gains superhuman abilities by wearing women's underwear on his head, was designed by Ando to subvert the earnest tone typically found in contemporary action manga.

The EX iteration reflects the enduring, albeit unconventional, legacy of the franchise. While the original run garnered a dedicated cult following for its bold rejection of mainstream sensibilities, the later EX installments were produced to capitalize on the series' persistent popularity in subculture circles. Reception of the work remains divided between those who view it as a clever parody of the genre and those who find its specific brand of humor excessive, yet it remains a significant touchstone for collectors of cult Japanese comics.
