Himiko-Den, a fantasy manga series illustrated by Maisaka Kou, emerged in the late 1990s as part of a multimedia project that also included an anime adaptation. The story draws loose inspiration from the historical figure Queen Himiko of Yamataikoku, reimagining her mythos within a shonen-styled adventure narrative focused on internal power, magical artifacts, and spiritual destiny.
