Holoearth Chronicles Side:E—Yamato Kasou Kaiitan

Holoearth Chronicles Side:E—Yamato Kasou Kaiitan is a manga series derived from the Hololive Production multimedia project, serving as an expansion of the broader Holoearth lore. It was commissioned to provide a narrative framework for the fictional universe associated with the VTuber agency, grounding the digital personas within a stylized, historical fantasy setting known as Yamato Kasou Kaiitan. The project functions as a cornerstone for the multi-platform world-building initiative intended to bridge the gap between virtual performance and serialized storytelling.

The series is written and illustrated by Kurose Kousuke, an artist noted for his clean, atmospheric linework and ability to translate complex character designs into a cohesive narrative aesthetic. By emphasizing a traditional Japanese folk-horror atmosphere mixed with high-fantasy elements, Kurose sought to offer a darker, more dramatic interpretation of the Hololive characters than is typically seen in their streaming content. Upon its release, it was received primarily by the existing fan base as a significant effort to canonize the lore of the Holoearth virtual space, garnering praise for its commitment to a distinct visual identity within the crowded landscape of franchise-based manga.
