Where it came from
Inaka ni Hikkoshitara Nazo no Ikimono ni Idakareta is a manga series created by the artist Ziki Masaya. The work fits within a specific niche of contemporary Japanese digital manga, often finding its initial audience through platforms like Pixiv or Twitter before being collected into volumes. The series explores themes of rural relocation paired with supernatural or creature-based encounters, a popular trope in modern manga that blends mundane daily life with fantasy elements.
The design of the series centers on the stylistic interplay between the protagonist and the mysterious, non-human entities they encounter. Ziki Masaya’s approach prioritizes expressive character reactions and a deliberate atmospheric shift as the rural setting becomes a backdrop for these unexpected relationships. It reflects a trend in current indie manga where artists focus on evocative, character-driven narratives that emphasize a sense of curiosity and quiet intimacy over high-action conflict.
