Where it came from
Jimi de Munou na Jijo nanode, Watashi no Koto wa Wasuretekudasai ~Watashi o Shiita kedo Kazoku no Minasama, Hametsu wa Douzo Gokatte ni~ originated as a web novel serialized on the Japanese user-generated platform Shosetsuka ni Naro before being adapted into a light novel series. Written by Mizuki Chiko, the narrative follows the trope of a marginalized protagonist who is cast aside by her noble family, only for them to suffer consequences once she is no longer present to manage their affairs.
The character designs and illustrations for the print release were handled to complement the light fantasy and revenge-themed drama characteristic of the 'rejection' subgenre in Japanese light novels. The series was designed to appeal to readers of shojo-adjacent fantasy, focusing on the protagonist's newfound independence, and has been received as a solid addition to the crowded market of villainess and discarded-heroine stories prevalent in current digital publishing.
