Joshikousei no Mudazukai

Joshikousei no Mudazukai, often referred to as Wasteful Days of High School Girls, began as a web manga series written and illustrated by the artist known as Bino. Initially serialized on the websites Niconico Seiga and Comic Newtype starting in 2013, the series was created to offer a comedic, slice-of-life look at the absurdity of adolescent friendship. Bino’s design style utilizes simple, expressive character art to emphasize the eccentric personalities of the students, grounding the humor in the relatable, mundane, and often nonsensical interactions that define the high school experience.

The series gained a dedicated following for its dry wit and the distinct lack of a traditional overarching plot, focusing instead on gag-driven vignettes centered on a core trio of students nicknamed Baka, Wota, and Robo. Following its online success, the work was compiled into tankobon volumes by Kadokawa. It was well-received for its ability to deconstruct common school-life tropes, eventually leading to an anime adaptation in 2019 that helped solidify the series as a staple of contemporary comedy manga.
