Where it came from
This doujinshi, titled Ten Years Later, We’ve Started Living Together, is a notable fan-made work by the artist Kushima Uichi within the K-ON! fandom. Released following the conclusion of Kakifly’s original manga and the subsequent anime adaptations, the work explores the domestic life of the characters Yui Hirasawa and Azusa Nakano after a decade has passed. It serves as an exploration of the 'YuiAzu' shipping dynamic, which remained a central point of fan speculation and creative output long after the series ended.
Kushima Uichi’s approach to the material is recognized for its sentimental tone and dedication to the character archetypes established in the source material. By focusing on the transition into adulthood for characters primarily seen in high school, the work aligns with the common doujinshi practice of extending narratives to provide closure or alternative life paths for beloved series. It was distributed through amateur artist circles, a cornerstone of the Japanese fan culture that allows creators to elaborate on established intellectual properties.
