Where it came from
Quantum Mechanics Rainbow is a prominent doujinshi anthology series produced by the circle SEQMED. It emerged within the vibrant post-2013 Kantai Collection fan community, a space defined by a deep fascination with anthropomorphizing Imperial Japanese Navy warships into 'kanmusu' characters. The publication reflects a niche tradition of high-quality fan-made artistry that explores the expansive lore and character dynamics of the game through a lens of distinct aesthetic curation and editorial focus.
The design and artistic direction of this volume emphasize a sophisticated visual style, moving beyond standard fan interpretations to showcase intricate character studies and thematic sequences. SEQMED is known for a clean, deliberate approach to page layout and character design, aiming to provide a polished experience for readers who appreciate the interplay between the technical history of the vessels and their reimagined personas. Upon its release at events like Comiket, the work gained recognition among collectors for its production quality and the technical proficiency displayed in its illustrative narratives.
