King of Mameshiba Puroresu

King of Mameshiba Puroresu, illustrated by NIKAIDOU Ayano, is a niche manga series that centers on the whimsical and anthropomorphic world of 'mameshiba'—beans characterized by their dog-like features—reimagined within the dramatic and high-stakes environment of professional wrestling. Created as a lighthearted spin-off from the popular Japanese Mameshiba advertising and character franchise, the work serves to blend the surreal comedy of the original bean-dog characters with the tropes and intense spectacle of puroresu, or Japanese pro-wrestling.

The design of the characters maintains the signature simple, cute aesthetic of the Mameshiba franchise while layering on the dramatic flair of wrestling gear and ring personas. NIKAIDOU Ayano’s approach balances the visual humor of these small, incongruous characters performing athletic feats with a genuine homage to wrestling culture. Upon release, the series was received primarily as a collector's item for fans of character-driven manga, praised for its playful departure from the more static nature of the original mascot characters.
