Where it came from
This work originates from the doujinshi subculture, specifically as a fan-colored iteration of Ice Reizou's original manga series. Doujinshi are self-published Japanese works, often created by fans to expand upon or re-interpret existing themes, characters, or specific artistic styles within the broader manga ecosystem.
The creation of fan-colored volumes like this reflects a dedicated effort by enthusiasts to bring heightened visual vibrancy to black-and-white original source material. Ice Reizou is recognized within niche communities for a distinctive illustrative style, and these colored releases are typically produced as labor-of-love projects to celebrate the author's work rather than as official commercial publications.
