Where it came from
Kirara Fantasia was a tactical role-playing mobile game developed by Drecom and Meteorise, featuring a crossover of characters from various manga serialized in the Manga Time Kirara magazines. Launched in late 2017, the game was designed to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Manga Time Kirara brand by uniting beloved characters like those from K-On!, Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?, and New Game! within a cohesive, original fantasy narrative.
The game was supervised by the Kirara Fantasia Production Committee, which ensured that the character designs remained faithful to the distinct artistic styles of their original authors. While the game was well-regarded for its visual presentation and the charm of its character interactions, it faced challenges regarding balance and pacing, ultimately concluding its service in early 2023. It remains a notable example of a platform-spanning collaboration project that attempted to blend multiple distinct artistic voices into a single interactive experience.
