Kobo-chan

Kobo-chan is a long-running Japanese yonkoma manga series created by mangaka Ueda Masashi. First appearing in the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper in 1982, the series follows the daily life of Kobo Tabata, a five-year-old boy living with his extended family in Tokyo. The strip was conceived as a lighthearted reflection on typical middle-class Japanese domestic life, focusing on universal themes of family dynamics, school, and neighborhood interactions.

The aesthetic of Kobo-chan is defined by its simple, approachable character designs and clean lines, which allowed it to maintain a consistent visual identity over several decades.
