Königlich-Bayerisches Kreis-Amtsblatt von Oberfranken: 1883

The Königlich-Bayerisches Kreis-Amtsblatt von Oberfranken served as the official gazette for the Upper Franconian district of the Kingdom of Bavaria. Published throughout the late nineteenth century, these volumes were compiled to disseminate administrative decrees, legal notices, and governmental regulations to the public and civil service. They represent a period of bureaucratic expansion under the Bavarian monarchy, reflecting the structured and formal governance of the German Empire during the late 1800s.

This particular volume from 1883 offers a detailed snapshot of local legislative life, capturing the bureaucratic minutiae of the era. The design follows the standard functional typography of the period, emphasizing clarity and archival durability for official record-keeping. While not intended as a work of art, the volume remains a critical primary source for historians studying provincial administrative history, the evolution of Bavarian law, and the transition of local governance toward the end of the 19th century.
