Koori Zokusei Danshi to Cool na Douryou Joshi, also known as The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague, originated as a series of short web manga illustrations posted by mangaka Miyuki Tonogaya on Twitter in 2018. The series focuses on Himuro, a modern-day descendant of a snow woman who inadvertently creates frozen environments when he is overwhelmed by emotions, and his grounded coworker Fuyutsuki. Due to the positive reception and the viral popularity of these brief character studies, the work was serialized on the Gangan Pixiv platform beginning in 2019.
