Where it came from
Leave it Alone! Kojizo-kun (Hottoite! Kojizo-kun) is a humorous manga series created by Shinbo Nomura, serialized in the Japanese magazine CoroCoro Comic during the late 1980s. Emerging at a time when the magazine was cementing its dominance in the children's market, the series was designed as a lighthearted gag manga, characterized by Nomura's signature eccentric art style and slapstick comedic timing.
The character Kojizo-kun is a mischievous, supernatural entity that disrupts the everyday life of the protagonist. Nomura, known for his unique contributions to the manga industry during this era, focused on creating a whimsical atmosphere that resonated with young readers of the period. While the series remains a niche classic within the broader landscape of late-Showa era children's media, it is fondly remembered by collectors for its distinct visual aesthetic and the playful tone that defined Nomura's work during his tenure at CoroCoro.
