Links with the absent; or, Chapters on correspondence, by a member of the Ursuline community, Thurles, translator of 'Solid virtue'.

Published in the mid-19th century, this volume originates from the Ursuline Convent in Thurles, Ireland. It reflects the intellectual and spiritual life of the religious community during a period when the Ursuline order was deeply invested in education and the dissemination of devotional literature. The work is specifically attributed to a member of the community who had previously gained recognition for translating the spiritual text 'Solid Virtue'.

The book serves as a series of reflections on the art and importance of correspondence, likely intended to guide pupils or fellow sisters in maintaining virtuous communication. The design and presentation are characteristic of Victorian-era religious publications, favoring modest, austere binding and a didactic tone that emphasizes the importance of letter-writing as a tool for moral cultivation and the preservation of communal bonds.
