Little Mermaid - Mysterious Fortune Telling Girl

Little Mermaid - Mysterious Fortune Telling Girl, authored by NOZOMIERU Tsukiyo, emerged from the Japanese shojo manga tradition, which frequently blends whimsical fantasy elements with themes of adolescent romance and self-discovery. The work fits into a specific niche of mid-to-late 20th-century manga focused on mystical or magical girl archetypes, aiming to provide readers with an escapist narrative that centers on themes of destiny, water-themed imagery, and the allure of the unknown.

The aesthetic of the series relies heavily on the illustrative conventions of its era, prioritizing fluid character designs and emotive, ethereal artwork intended to draw readers into a dreamlike world. As part of a broader collection of storytelling aimed at younger audiences, the title was designed to balance supernatural intrigue with relatable emotional growth. It remains a representative example of the small-press or niche-market manga serials that sought to explore folklore motifs through a modern lens.
