Where it came from
Love♡Connection was created by Ippongi Bang, a prominent figure in the 1980s and 1990s doujinshi and manga scene. Published during an era when the artist was highly influential in the early computer graphics and gaming-adjacent manga subculture, the volume embodies the lighthearted, character-driven aesthetic that defined Bang’s work. The collection functions as a window into the self-published and independent manga movements that flourished alongside the rise of Japanese home computing.
Ippongi Bang is widely recognized for her distinct, energetic art style and her pioneering role as a female creator in the male-dominated world of tech-focused manga. Love♡Connection highlights her ability to blend stylistic hallmarks of the period with a personalized, intimate tone. The work was generally received as a charming representation of the artist's broader creative output, cementing her reputation as a prolific and accessible storyteller within the niche circles of manga fandom.
