Lovers Only

Lovers Only, authored by Takanagi Yuuna, emerged during the late 1990s as a notable contribution to the genre of mature shōjo and josei manga. This work was produced within a cultural period that saw increased creative freedom for female mangaka to explore complex romantic and interpersonal dynamics, often pushing the boundaries of traditional character archetypes found in contemporary magazine serialization.

Takanagi Yuuna crafted the series with a focus on evocative character design and a polished aesthetic that became a hallmark of her style. The work was received as a stylistic exploration of intimacy, reflecting the delicate line-work and emotional gravity that characterized much of the independent-leaning manga of that era. It remains a testament to the period's shift toward character-driven narratives that prioritized psychological depth over conventional plot structures.
