Where it came from
Majo-kun to Watashi is a manga series created by the artist Shima Asato, falling within the slice-of-life and supernatural romance genres prevalent in Japanese shojo publications during the early 2010s. The work explores the dynamics between a high school student and a young witch, focusing on the whimsical yet melancholic interactions that define their relationship as they navigate everyday adolescent life alongside magical elements.
The series is characterized by Asato's delicate and soft-edged art style, which emphasizes emotional intimacy and character expressions to ground its magical premise in human experience. It was received as a gentle, understated addition to its genre, appealing to readers who favor atmospheric storytelling over high-stakes fantasy action. The work reflects the broader trend of 'everyday magic' narratives that gained popularity in manga during this period.
