Manga de Yomu Kojiki

Manga de Yomu Kojiki was authored by Takeda Tsuneyasu to serve as an accessible entry point into the Kojiki, Japan's oldest extant chronicle of myths, legends, and imperial history. Published to bridge the gap between complex classical literature and contemporary readers, the work distills dense, archaic narratives into a visual medium to ensure that younger generations could engage with foundational cultural identity.

The design of the volume prioritizes readability and narrative flow, utilizing manga tropes to humanize figures from the Japanese creation myth. By framing historical deities and emperors through a stylized, sequential art lens, Takeda aimed to demystify a text that is often considered daunting. The series was generally received as a successful educational tool, widely recognized for its contribution to popularizing traditional Japanese lore in a modern context.
