Where it came from
Manga no Tsukurikata, translated as How to Make Manga, was created by Hirao Auri as an instructional and anecdotal series that offers a window into the professional life of a mangaka. Rather than serving as a dry textbook, the work uses a lighthearted, observational narrative style to demystify the labor-intensive reality of drawing, serializing, and managing the creative process within the Japanese manga industry.
Auri, best known for the series Oshi ga Budoukan Ittekuretara Shinu, employs a personal and self-aware artistic tone to bridge the gap between amateur aspirations and the technical demands of the medium. The work is widely regarded by enthusiasts for its sincerity, providing both practical advice and a relatable perspective on the hurdles creators face, which has helped it maintain a steady reputation among readers interested in the craft of storytelling.
