Memoirs de M. le préfet de la Seine et de M. le préfet de police, et procès-verbaux des délibérations

These volumes represent the administrative records of the Conseil général of the Seine department, published during the 19th century to formalize the proceedings and reporting of the prefect of the Seine and the prefect of police. They were created to serve as an official repository for the municipal governance of Paris, capturing the bureaucratic, fiscal, and regulatory deliberations essential to the expansion and modernization of the city under the Third Republic and preceding administrations.

The design of these documents follows the rigorous, utilitarian standards of French governmental printing of the era. The text is structured to provide transparency into public works, infrastructure development, and policing mandates, reflecting an institutional shift toward documenting the complex legislative history of the capital. These volumes are highly valued by historians today for their role in detailing the structural evolution of Paris as a metropolitan center.
