Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO Apocalypse 0079 is a manga adaptation authored by MEIMU, based on the three-part CGI anime miniseries released in 2006. The original animated project was conceived as a gritty, technical exploration of the One Year War from the perspective of the Principality of Zeon's 603rd Technical Evaluation Unit. This narrative shift away from the traditional Gundam hero pilot toward the engineers and test pilots of experimental weaponry provided a grounded, melancholy tone that focused on the brutal realities of wartime logistics and technological desperation.

MEIMU’s adaptation was designed to translate the dense, mechanical-heavy aesthetic of the CG animation into the static, expressive language of manga. By focusing on the internal lives of the characters serving aboard the JOTUNHEIM, the work sought to highlight the human cost of the conflict, particularly regarding the failures of experimental prototypes. The manga received attention for how it adapted complex 3D-rendered battle sequences into traditional ink-and-screen-tone panels, preserving the dark, industrial atmosphere established by the original series director, Takashi Imanishi.
