Mononoke Sharing

Mononoke Sharing is a manga series created by the artist Cool-kyou Shinja, who is well known for a distinct style that often blends supernatural or fantastical elements with quiet, everyday life. The series follows the story of a young girl named Yuta who discovers that her family home is shared with various yōkai, leading to a series of comedic and often heartwarming interactions as they navigate cohabitation. It debuted in the early 2010s, emerging during a period where 'slice-of-life' supernatural manga gained significant traction in the Japanese market.

The design of the series centers on the contrast between the mundane domestic setting and the eccentric, yet approachable, character designs of the supernatural entities. Cool-kyou Shinja utilized a soft, expressive art style that emphasizes character reactions and interior atmosphere to ground the whimsical premise. The work was generally well-received by readers for its lighthearted tone and its ability to humanize folklore creatures, fitting comfortably alongside the author's other successful works like Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.
