Motto Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!

Motto Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! is the sequel to Syundei's 2014 debut manga, Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!, which began serialization in the magazine Opera. The series follows the internal monologues and awkward social navigation of Nakamura, a shy high school student harboring a crush on his classmate, Hirose. The sequel continues the series' signature blend of retro-inspired aesthetics and deadpan comedic timing, expanding on the relationship dynamics established in the first volume.

Syundei is widely recognized for a distinct visual style that draws heavy influence from the Showa-era manga aesthetic, characterized by rounded character designs and a nostalgic, soft-edged atmosphere. This specific stylistic choice was intended to contrast the earnest, often agonizing nature of adolescent longing with a lighthearted, comedic presentation. Upon its release, the volume was well-received by readers for its empathetic portrayal of queer youth and its ability to balance genuine sentiment with sharp, observational humor.
