Mousou Megane

Mousou Megane, or Delusion Glasses, is a manga series created by the artist Azuma Yuki. It emerged from the niche subgenre of late-night seinen and comedy manga, specifically focusing on the playful, trope-heavy depictions of character dynamics often found in manga magazines targeting adult male readers. The series serves as a self-contained exploration of the protagonist’s overactive imagination regarding those around them, utilizing the titular glasses as a narrative device to facilitate humorous, surreal, and often suggestive scenarios.

Azuma Yuki’s design approach centers on a clean, expressive art style that emphasizes character reaction and comedic timing. The work is characterized by its lighthearted tone and reliance on character-driven gags rather than complex plot arcs. Upon its release, it was received as a straightforward example of the gag-manga tradition, appreciated by readers for its accessible art and its ability to consistently deliver on the specific comedic expectations established within the first volume.
