Where it came from
Netsu ga Sameta Watashitachi wa, authored by the mangaka Kikuchi Saku, belongs to the contemporary landscape of character-driven josei or seinen manga. The work is noted for its introspective approach to interpersonal relationships and the gradual cooling of emotional intensity, a theme reflected in its title, which translates to 'We, Whose Fever Has Subsided.' It emerged within the dense, competitive market of Japanese digital and print serialization, targeting readers interested in nuanced, slow-burn narratives rather than high-octane action.
The aesthetic of the series is characterized by Saku’s deliberate use of negative space and expressive, understated character designs. By focusing on the quiet moments that define a shifting romance, the artwork seeks to mirror the psychological state of the protagonists. It has garnered a reputation among critics for its atmospheric consistency and its refusal to rely on melodramatic tropes, finding a niche audience that values grounded emotional realism in graphic storytelling.
