Where it came from
Never Let Go of My Ex-Husband originated as a popular digital manhua series serialized on Chinese web platforms, later adapted into print volumes for physical collections. It sits within the contemporary romance and drama genre, focusing on themes of complicated relationships, past regrets, and the trope of reconciliation. The story emerged from the vibrant ecosystem of modern Chinese web-comics, where digital releases rapidly transition to print for dedicated fanbases seeking physical keepsakes of their favorite episodic narratives.
The visual aesthetic of the series is characteristic of high-end digital manhua, characterized by polished character designs, expressive facial work, and a sophisticated color palette that emphasizes dramatic emotional beats. Produced by the iCiyuan collective, the art style prioritizes a sleek, accessible look that balances traditional romantic motifs with a fast-paced storytelling rhythm typical of modern serializations. Upon its release, it was well-received by readers who follow serialized romance, praised for its engaging pacing and the visual evolution of its leads throughout the narrative.
