Never Understand

Never Understand is a webtoon-turned-print volume created by the artist known as Bboong. It emerged from the thriving South Korean digital comics scene, a space characterized by its intimate storytelling and emphasis on character-driven emotional arcs. The work gained traction online for its grounded approach to interpersonal relationships and its distinct, evocative visual style, which captures fleeting moments of human vulnerability with careful, restrained line work.

In its transition to a physical collection, the design philosophy behind Never Understand prioritizes a sense of stillness and contemplation. Bboong utilized a minimalist aesthetic for the cover and internal layouts, stripping away unnecessary visual noise to focus the reader’s attention on the quiet, often melancholy interactions between the protagonists. Upon its publication in print, the volume was well-received by fans of slice-of-life manhwa who appreciated the tangible quality of its atmospheric panels and the nuanced, dialogue-sparse narrative delivery.
