Official List of Officers of the Officers' Reserve Corps of the Army of the United States ...

The Official List of Officers of the Officers' Reserve Corps of the United States Army was published by the Adjutant-General's Office to serve as an authoritative, administrative register of personnel serving in the newly established reserve component. Following the passage of the National Defense Act of 1916, which reorganized the nation's military structure, the Army needed a formal, public method to track and document the expanding roster of reserve officers prepared for potential national emergency.

These volumes were compiled by the military bureaucracy to ensure internal transparency and public accountability regarding the readiness of the Officer Reserve Corps. The design is purely utilitarian, prioritizing structured data, rank classifications, and departmental organization over aesthetic presentation. As a reference tool intended for official administrative use, the volumes reflect the strict, formal record-keeping standards of the United States military during the early twentieth century.
