Ogrest

Ogrest is a central figure in the transmedia universe created by the French studio Ankama, originating from the tactical role-playing game Dofus and playing a titular role in the Wakfu franchise. The character was conceived as an ogre of immense power and tragic disposition, whose obsession with love leads to a catastrophic deluge that reshapes the world. His design, characterized by his small stature relative to his destructive capacity and his signature melancholic expression, was developed under the creative direction of Mig to embody the duality of monstrous strength and profound emotional vulnerability.

The character's narrative evolution was expanded through a specialized manga series titled Ogrest, written and illustrated by Mig. This work was crafted to provide a deep-dive origin story for the character, bridging the lore gaps between the different eras of the Ankama timeline. The series was well-received for its distinct artistic style, which leans into dynamic, expressive paneling that complements the fantasy setting of the Krosmoz universe, establishing Ogrest as an enduring figure in French bande dessinée and international animation culture.
