Oneesan-ha no Ore ga Naze Chicchai Kimi o Suki ni Natta no ka? is a light novel series authored by Yuu Kagami, a writer recognized for his contributions to the Japanese light novel market during the early 2010s. The series emerged during a period of significant growth for the 'imouto' and 'oneesan' archetypes within the medium, catering to readers who enjoyed character-driven romantic comedies featuring complex sibling-like dynamics.

The series is noted for its focus on the internal conflicts of the protagonist, who grapples with his established preference for older women while developing feelings for a younger character. The narrative design aligns with the standard light novel tropes of the era, utilizing a mix of humor, slice-of-life pacing, and illustrations typical of the genre. It received moderate attention within the niche community of light novel enthusiasts upon its release, functioning as a representative example of mid-tier Japanese light literature from its publication period.
