Where it came from
Ookami-chan no Ohanashi is a slice-of-life manga series written and illustrated by Wataame, known for their distinctively soft, whimsical art style. The series centers on the endearing daily interactions and comedic misunderstandings of a young girl with wolf-like characteristics, fitting into the 'kemonomimi' subgenre that focuses on gentle, character-driven storytelling rather than complex plotting.
First serialized in the late 2010s, the work emerged as part of a broader trend of heartwarming web-manga that found success in physical compilation volumes. Wataame designed the protagonist to emphasize a balance between supernatural traits and relatable human behavior, aiming to create a comforting reading experience. The series has been generally well-received by fans of the genre for its lighthearted tone and expressive character designs.
