Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love-Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru

Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love-Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru, often shortened to NouCome, began as a light novel series written by Takeru Kasukabe and illustrated by Yukiwo, debuting in early 2012. Published under the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko label, the narrative centers on Kanade Amakusa, a student afflicted with the 'absolute choice' curse, which forces him to periodically perform absurd actions in front of his peers. The series emerged during the height of the mid-2010s trend of high-concept light comedy anime and manga, drawing inspiration from visual novel tropes and slapstick humor.

The illustrations provided by Yukiwo helped define the series' visual identity, balancing standard school-life aesthetics with the chaotic and often surreal scenarios dictated by the protagonist's curse. The work was well-received within the light novel community for its self-aware humor and parody of romantic comedy conventions, leading to a successful adaptation into a twelve-episode television series in 2013. Its legacy remains tied to its influence on the 'cringe comedy' subgenre within light novels, noted primarily for its unconventional premise and rapid-fire delivery of absurd gags.
