Ou ga Neko ni Natta

Ou ga Neko ni Natta, translated as The King Became a Cat, is a manga series created by the artist Morishige Takuma. Known for a distinctively minimalist and humorous approach to storytelling, Morishige developed this work as a lighthearted exploration of surreal comedy, centering on the titular premise of a monarch transforming into a feline. The series reflects the author's broader career focus on domestic comedy and absurdity, drawing on the long-standing manga tradition of personifying animals to highlight human traits.

The design and narrative structure of the volume are consistent with Morishige's established style, which often emphasizes simple character line work and comedic timing over complex background detail. Upon its release, the work was received by readers as a whimsical addition to the genre of anthropomorphic comedy. It is recognized primarily for its playful premise and remains a notable example of the author's capacity to build engaging narratives from relatively straightforward conceptual hooks.
