Where it came from
Oujo Denka wa Oikari no You desu, known in English as Her Royal Highness Seems to Be Angry, originated as a serialized web novel before being adapted into a manga series illustrated by Yatsuhashi Kou. The narrative follows the story of a princess who, after being betrayed and executed, finds herself reincarnated with the memory of her past life, sparking a tale of retribution and court intrigue.
The manga adaptation is published by Kadokawa and fits within the popular 'villainess' subgenre of light novels and manga, which gained significant traction in the 2010s. Yatsuhashi Kou’s artistic direction emphasizes the regal and occasionally volatile temperament of the protagonist, balancing the dramatic stakes of high-fantasy politics with the aesthetic conventions typical of shojo-leaning fantasy manga.
