This volume serves as an official record of the episcopal conferences held in São Paulo between September 25 and October 10, 1910. It represents a significant moment in the history of the Catholic Church in Brazil, documenting the collaborative efforts of the archbishops and bishops from the major ecclesiastical provinces of Rio de Janeiro, Mariana, São Paulo, Cuiabá, and Porto Alegre. The publication was intended to serve as a pastoral directive to both the clergy and the faithful, outlining a unified ecclesiastical strategy during a period of transition in the early republican era.

The document is characteristic of formal church communications of the early twentieth century, prioritizing clear, authoritative prose meant for wide distribution within parish and diocesan administrative networks. The design adheres to the standard academic and religious printing traditions of the era, focusing on legibility and the formal presentation of theological and administrative conclusions reached during the summit. It remains a primary source for scholars researching the influence of the Brazilian Catholic hierarchy on national societal norms at the turn of the century.
