(Pre-Serialization) Tomodachi no Nee-chan ni Koishita Hanashi

Tomodachi no Nee-chan ni Koishita Hanashi originated as a self-published work by the artist Azusa Kina, appearing on the digital platform Pixiv before finding its way into print as a doujinshi. This early iteration established the core premise of a young man navigating the complex, often humorous dynamics of falling for his best friend's older sister, a trope Kina explored with a distinctively gentle and expressive art style.

The work gained significant traction within the Japanese web-manga community due to Kina’s ability to balance lighthearted romantic comedy with genuine character development. The design choices, characterized by soft linework and nuanced emotional cues, were well-received by readers who appreciated the author's focus on intimate social interactions, eventually leading to its recognition as a standout title that served as a precursor to broader commercial serialization.
