Prince Bastard's Parenting Book

Prince Bastard's Parenting Book, known in its original Chinese serialization as 'Wangye De Yuer Jing', emerged from the prolific digital publishing house SANFU A&C. Produced during the height of the modern manhua boom, this series fits into the 'danmei' or boys' love genre, specifically leaning into the subgenre of historical palace intrigue blended with domestic comedy. It was created to cater to digital readers seeking lighthearted, character-driven narratives that subvert traditional noble tropes by focusing on the unexpected complexities of fatherhood within a high-stakes imperial setting.

The visual direction, characteristic of SANFU A&C's house style, emphasizes expressive character designs and vibrant, clean lines intended for mobile consumption. The narrative design prioritizes the juxtaposition of a stoic or abrasive royal figure against the chaotic reality of childcare, a dynamic that was well-received by international fans of online manhua. By grounding the fantastical elements of palace life in the relatable, often humorous challenges of parenting, the series carved out a distinct niche for readers looking for emotional levity within historical fantasy frameworks.
