The series emerged during a period of rising interest in dieselpunk and military-themed manga, establishing a narrative centered on the Imperial Army's Section III, a unit tasked with post-war reconstruction and the suppression of rogue elements. The work is noted for its blending of dark geopolitical themes with stylized, heavy-duty military equipment, most iconically the oversized anti-tank weaponry and specialized tools known as 'Door Knockers'.

The central design philosophy of the series focuses on the visual contrast between the fragility of a broken nation and the brutalist aesthetics of its war-torn machinery.
