Puri Puri Planet

Puri Puri Planet is a manga series created by the artist Takenashi Eri, best known for her work on titles like Kannagi. The series reflects the stylistic hallmarks of mid-2000s seinen manga, blending eccentric character designs with a comedic, often surreal narrative tone. It was serialized in Japanese publications before being collected into volumes, capturing a period in the industry where lighthearted, character-driven gag manga held a distinct space alongside more plot-heavy serializations.

Takenashi Eri designed the series to focus on whimsical interactions and absurd scenarios, employing an expressive, clean art style that emphasizes character reactions. The reception was largely defined by the existing fanbase of the artist, who appreciated her ability to balance humorous visual gags with a charming aesthetic. As a collected volume, it serves as an example of the artist's early evolution in visual storytelling and panel layout, remaining a niche but well-regarded entry in her bibliography.
